Marissa Teo — Founder of Art/I/Curate

I believe that creativity is an innate human quality — and that through the arts, we can access parts of ourselves that words alone cannot reach. Healing doesn't require perfection. It requires presence.

Her story

The journey to Art/I/Curate

Marissa Teo is the founder and chief therapist of Art/I/Curate, a creative arts therapy practice based in Singapore with a regional reach across Malaysia and Brunei.

With a deep passion for the healing power of the arts, Marissa founded Art/I/Curate with a simple but powerful belief: that everyone — regardless of age, background, or artistic ability — can benefit from creative expression as a pathway to emotional wellbeing and personal growth.

As a Registered Creative Arts Therapist with ANZACATA (the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association), Marissa brings a multimodal approach to her practice, integrating visual arts, music, movement, drama, and creative writing into her therapeutic work.

Her work spans individual therapy, group sessions, public workshops, and bespoke corporate wellness programmes. She has facilitated creative arts interventions in schools, hospitals, community centres, corporate offices, and social service organisations across Southeast Asia.

Marissa is also an advocate for making therapeutic arts accessible to all. Through Art/I/Curate's community outreach initiatives, she works to raise awareness about the benefits of creative arts therapy and bring healing opportunities to underserved communities.
